Benjamin is an experienced Data Scientist and Python developer who has worked in military, industry, and academia for the past eight years. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Computer Science at The University of Maryland, College Park, doing research in the Metacognitive Lab with Don Perlis and Michael Cox (now at Wright State Research Institute). His research focus is on a theory of investigation - or the planful solution of knowledge goals using casebase reasoning and machine learning. He is formely a data dcientist at Cobrain Company in Bethesda, MD where he built data products including recommender systems and classifier models. Before that, he was the technology at Unbound Concepts, a startup that used NLP and Machine Learning to detect the reading level of children's literature. He holds a Masters degree from North Dakota State University where he taught undergraduate Computer Science courses. He is also currently adjunct faculty at Georgetown University where he teaches Data Science and Analytics.
